This week Tina has asked us to show our curves.
When entering the city of Conway, South Carolina from Highway 501, you travel over the Memorial Bridge. It’s absolutely gorgeous and stately. It was built in 1937 and was designated as a memorial to the Horry County citizens that served in America’s wars. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
Last October the area was hard hit by Hurricane Florence and the area at the foot of the bridge had massive flooding from the Waccamaw River and much of the area was closed off.
Now the bridge is closed for several months for construction. It’s getting a new road surface and a nip and a tuck to the curbs and railings.
They don’t make them like this any more.

It is rather stately how civil engineers have an artistic mind.
