Regular Random – Five Minutes with a Tiny Bouquet

I picked up this tiny bouquet at the grocery store this weekend.  The bright colors were calling out to me and I instantly decided it would be the perfect post for Desley Jane’s Regular Random challenge.  I hadn’t participated in a while so this was the perfect time to rectify my absence.

The rules are to pick an item and without disturbing the subject, spend five minutes taking shots with different lighting and angles.

Regular Random – Five Minutes with Yellow

The idea of this challenge is to pick a subject and spend five minutes photographing it using different angles and lighting without moving the subject.  The center of this flower is so beautiful that I decided to concentrate just on it.

Regular Random – Five Minutes with a 1931 Model A

Here are the rules for this challenge –

Choose a subject or a scene and spend five minutes photographing it using different lighting and angles without interfering with the subject.  Use the tags “regular random” and “five minutes”.

While visiting mom this weekend I was able to take a walk through the Farmers Market held every Saturday.  I have lots of photos to share but this post features a 1931 Ford Model A owned by one of the vendors.

Bob says his father wanted a Model A when they were first manufactured but it wasn’t until 1934 that he purchased one.  He and his wife were traveling to the mountains of North Carolina for apples and saw the car on the side of the road with a “for sale” sign.  His father bought it and the car passed to Bob in 1969.  It’s driven regularly and the top speed is 55MPH.

Wouldn’t you love to take a spin in it?

Regular Random – Five Minutes with Purple

The rules of this challenge are to spend five minutes photographing a subject using different lighting and angles.

These purple marsh grasses are so wispy and dreamy in macro and I’m totally in love with the bokeh.

I love this “heart” scarf and thought it would look really pretty with a candy bowl I borrowed from work.  I’m working on another post with the bowl and lighting so watch for that one later.

What could be more fun than puzzles with my grandson?  We “oinked”, “woofed”, “clucked” and “neighed” all weekend with some “choo choos” and “vroom, vrooms” thrown in too.

Regular Random: Five Minutes with a Bouquet

Desley Jane hosts this challenge each week and the rules are to pick a subject and shoot for five minutes using different angles and lighting.

I tend to overthink each shot so I’ve always gone over five minutes in my previous attempts.  But these challenges have helped me realize that I can just trust my instincts and for the first time, I’ve gotten several great shots in five minutes.

Regular Random – Five Minutes with the Sun

The rules of this challenge are to pick out an object and photograph it for five minutes only using different lighting and angles. ( I underscored this because I have problems following the time limit.)

Fortunately we have missed out on the worst of Hurricane Irma but we are still experiencing a lot of rain and wind gusts up to 50 – 55 miles per hour and losing power off and on.  Hurricane Matthew last year was enough for us, thank you very much!  Anyway, there’s no sun today so I decided to make my own.

I love suns and have one in just about every room of the house.  This one sits in my hall and I pulled it out in front of the window to get what light I could.

Thanks to Desley Jane for hosting.  You can find her post here:  https://musingsofafrequentflyingscientist.com/2017/09/10/five-minutes-with-chocolate-cake-regularrandom/

Regular Random – Five Minutes – Flowers on a Grave

The rules for this challenge are:

Choose a subject or a scene and spend five minutes photographing it using different angles and lighting.

On my way home from work the other day, I had a sudden impulse to stop by the cemetery near my home.  I don’t have any family or friends buried there (at least I don’t think so) but it’s calming to walk through and the chapel and grounds are absolutely beautiful.

And for once, I was able to stick with the five minute time limit for this challenge – but only because it was so humid outside!
