Photo Challenge – Lens-Arts: Colors of Autumn

This week Amy has given us the prompt of the Colors of Autumn. Hubby and I took a trip to the mountains of North Carolina in October 2020 and we caught the leaves at the perfect time. They were absolutely gorgeous! You can check out this link for my post of November 2020 for a look at those pictures.

The weather here at the beach gets a little cooler each day along with a decrease in the humidity so it’s a perfect time to head out of the house. But the cooler weather also has me thinking of making some of my favorite soup recipes. Soups are usually way too hot for us to make during the summer.

I started a food blog in 2016 and it is the reason I got interested in photography. Your food has to look good and my photos were awful. I took some photography classes and soon started this blog. I kept up with the food blog until the end of 2017 although I still keep it active. It was taking time away from my photography plus – have you ever tried to take photos of food when hubby is ready to eat?

These photos may not be of changing leaves but my soups do have the colors of autumn.

Photo Challenge: Lens-Artists – Less is More

This week Amy has asked us to share what “less means more” means to us.

Here’s proof that you don’t need a big set or lots of props to have a great photo shoot.

Lens-Artist Challenge – Blue

For this week’s challenge, Patti has asked us to share out interpretation of blue – whether it’s the time of day, the color or the mood.

Blue Sky

The beach is different every day.  The sky can be any color imaginable.  The surf can quietly lay down or thunder as the waves hit the beach.  Sometimes the air is so still and oppressive that it’s unbearable without the shade of an umbrella and sometimes the wind blows so hard that the grains of sand pellet you mercilessly.   So there’s always a sense of anticipation as you walk through the access to see the mood of the beach that day.

Blue Sunset

The most vivid colors of the sky are at sunrise and sunset.  I’m not a morning person at all so sunrise photos are a rarity for me.  This photo was taken at Huntington Beach State Park.  I had gone there to get photos of the birds coming home to roost and stayed to watch the last traces of the sun.

Blue Beach

This last photo is my latest Photoshop effort.  I would play with it 24/7 if I could.  It’s definitely blue!

Regular Random – Five Minutes with Buttons

Desley Jane hosts Regular Random each week and you can find her here: https://musingsofafrequentflyingscientist.com/2017/08/05/five-minutes-with-a-ranunculus-regularrandom/

The rules are to pick a subject and spend five minutes with it using different lighting, views and angles, etc.

I bought these cute buttons for a project a couple of years ago and came across them the other day and thought it would be a colorful entry.

A Back Porch Light Show

Light Show

A Back Porch Light Show

One of my homework assignments last year was to take a night photo.  This photo was one of my submissions.  Hubby helped me attach glow sticks to the fan on our back porch and this was the colorful result.
