Photo Challenge – Temporary

This week we are asked to share a photo that says “temporary” to us.

The roseate spoonbills have been visiting the lowcountry the past few weeks on their way south for the winter. You can’t miss them – pink feathers with a large, flat, spoon-shaped bill which they use to feed by sweeping their bill back and forth.

The arrival of the spoonbills always creates excitement among all “birders” and the topic of all conversation revolves around the “spoonies”. The weather’s getting colder so our “temporary” residents will be leaving soon but I think I can say for all that the welcome mat is always out.

These photos are my homework for a photography class I’m taking. We were asked to pick one color and one letter of the alphabet. The subject of our photos had to be our color and its first letter had to be the letter we picked. I chose the color pink and the letter P.
