Photo Challenge – Narrow

This week, our challenge is to focus on a narrow or slender image.

All Things Narrow

This photo was taken at the Riverwalk in Augusta, Georgia and is a replica of the paddlewheel on Augusta’s last Stern-wheeler which was built in 1933 and wrecked in 1964.

There’s a lot of “narrow” in this photo – the frame of the paddlewheel, the cracks in the sidewalk, the trunks of the trees, the light pole and the railings on the gate to the far left.

An Abstract Drive

Light Show 4-2

An Abstract Drive

We had gone to visit family and were near the end of a four hour trip home.  I was restless so I pulled out my camera and started taking pictures through the windshield.

Insect and the Peach

The Insect and the Peach

I am always amazed by the small subjects my macro lens picks up.  It shows such great detail – no wonder it’s my favorite lens!

Photo Challenge – Future

Our challenge this week asks us to share our interpretation of future.  This topic hits home as my mom and I have been going through old photos and trying to place names to faces.  We may have photos of my great, great grandparents but may never know.

Birds Nest 1

And They Lived Happily Ever After

My daughter and her family have just moved into their dream home – one that they have designed and built themselves.  It’s been a journey getting there but they have officially started their future in their new home.

Photo101 – Mystery & Lighting Effects

Photo 101 – Day 10

Today, we are asked to manipulate the light available to create a particular effect.

Under the Tree

My daughter and I were walking down a path last weekend near her home.  It wound through the trees and shade and shadows to this lovely pier and sunshine.

Photo Challenge – Dance

In this week’s challenge, we are asked to share a photo of something that appears like dance and the focus can be on objects, animals, or people.

Black Crowned Night Herons

These herons strutted round and round the tree – intent with their eyes to the ground and never missing a beat.

Photos taken at Brookgreen Gardens.

Photo101 – Warmth & the Quality of Light

Photo 101 – Day 9

Today, we are asked to capture an image of warmth using the sun as our source.

I’ve posted another image of this sculpture before but thought it was worth a second post – her face lifted to the sun captures this challenge perfectly.
